General Questions

Q: What? That sounded like you said free.

A: You heard correctly! We're giving Animation Stand Personal Edition away for free.

Q: Why are you doing this?

A: We've made Animation Stand Personal Edition free, so everyone can afford to learn to create animations.
Once you become an animator, we think you'll want to upgrade to the Cinema Edition. When you're ready, just let us know.

Q: On opening the program, I get the message that the program is time limited to <date>. Does this mean that I can only use it up until this date and will then have to purchase a copy?

A: No. We've had the problem in the past of people finding a bug in 3-year-old software, and calling us to discuss the problem on software we don't even have any more. So, we've decided to have the software expire. Some time before the expiration date, you can come back to www.linker.com and get the update, again for free. For updates, you won't have to reload the whole thing. You'll only have to load a change packet.

Bottom line: You'll just have to get more features and speed for free.

Q: What is the difference between the Personal and Cinema Editions of Animation Stand?

A: Animation Stand Personal Edition has the lowest price point of any 2D animation system on the market. Free! It is limited to to a resolution of 256 x 192 pixels. The
Animation Stand Cinema Edition features unlimited resolution. It is used primarily for production of feature animation.

Q: On what operating systems Animation Stand Personal Edition available?

A: It runs on Macintosh and Windows
